Jesse et un ami passent leur été à filmer leur quotidien. Un jour, un meurtre survient chez un voisin. Après le passage de la police, les deux jeunes hommes décident de visiter l'appartement où est survenu le crime. Ils ne trouvent rien, mais Jesse se réveille le lendemain avec une mystérieuse marque sur le corps. Ce sceau semble décupler sa force, lui donnant des pouvoirs spéciaux. Lorsque son comportement se dérègle et le pousse à commettre des actes étranges et dangereux, ses proches décident de l'aider. Ils découvrent que leur ami n'est pas seul dans son cas...
